Summer Preview

Ainsley's last day of school was the 19th. She keeps telling me that she bets her teachers miss her.
Caden had the Friday before Memorial Day off so we visited a new park (well new to us anyway). The kids had a lot of fun and I'm sure we'll be back several times over the summer.

Caden was so excited to show me how he's learned to do the monkey bars this year at recess.

Our Tiger Scout

Caden experienced camping out for the first time this weekend with Jeff at his first Cub Scout event. He had so much fun participating in all the events - archery, BB guns, Water Rockets, obstacle courses, and a giant campfire where the older scout welcomed them and gave them their "stripes" (white and black paint on their cheeks)

Girls Weekend

While Jeff and Caden were at their first Cub Scout camp out Ainsley and I tried out the zoo, ate lunch at McDonald's, rode bikes all over the neighborhood, turned the driveway into a masterpiece, did a lot of swinging.
I had the "vintage" digital camera this weekend while Jeff took the other one so I couldn't get the pictures below to turn.

We have a few trees . . .

We've been asked my our Utah friends what it's like in Iowa, if we have trees, etc. Here are a few pictures of our backyard and side of our house. I know I've counted over 30. Jeff and I still can't get over how green it is here.

Two Wheels!

We'd been practicing in the basement and Jeff decided to take Caden to the driveway and he just took off. He is so excited and can't wait to ride his bike to school.

Caden's AWANA Awards Night

Caden graduated from Cubbies to Sparks in the Fall. He completed his book that was supposed to last until the end of the school year in December. He received an extra credit book that he completed after we moved to Iowa. He has so much fun learning all the bible verses.
We are so very proud of our Spark.

Walking to School

A day of independence for Caden - a stomach ache for mom. Caden walked to school for the first time during "Safe Routes to School" week. He was a part of a "walking bus" supervised by adults, but nevertheless another indication that he's growing up so quickly.

Lunches with Ainsley

So glad to be able to be outside in the beautiful Spring weather. Ainsley and I spend many afternoons eating lunch at their new picnic table under their playset.
